Continued, guess I'll just have to keep continuing, I'm sorry

So i made it through that, which by the way was the sickest I'd been in years, but my baby looked fine on ultrasound, his heartbeat was strong, and that was all that mattered.  Until a couple of weeks later, I woke up at about 2 am one night, cramping and feeling strange. I went to the bathroom to find that I had started bleeding, and not the kind of light spotting that can be normal at any point in pregnancy, but actually bleeding. I called the on-call OB and he said to call first thing the following morning to schedule an appointment, which of coarse I did. They did another pelvic ultrasound and saw that the baby still had a good, strong heartbeat, but Dr. Drake (my wonderful OB) said to be prepared to miscarry within the next week because my uterus looked like it was trying to expel the baby.
Now I know earlier I said I was devastated to discover I was pregnant, but regardless of that, I certainly didn't want to lose a baby. So I took it easy for the next several days, went it for a follow up appointment a week later.

Continued from "our precious angel"

I know enough about high risk pregnancies, already having been through two, to know that getting pregnant only a year after my previous delivery could potentially be catastrophic for the baby. I know, I said I was upset at first about the pregnancy, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I already loved this tiny human being growing inside of me. Besides, after the initial shock, we were very excited.
Well this pregnancy ended up being a lot harder and more complicated than anyone, even my OB, ever expected. Just to give you a quick rundown of what all took place: it started with me getting some kind of really bad bacterial infection in my throat (not strep but similar). I ran a fever of about 103 for 2 days, which a fever that high isn't good for an embryo trying to develop its major organs. Not to mention, how awful I felt being that sick and just a few weeks prego! Lol. So I got oral and a shot of a antibiotics (yeah my throat looked that bad).

Our precious angel, Carter Smith 11/25/09-1/1/10

Where to begin... I guess from the beginning of a very long and complicated pregnancy. My husband and I already had 2 kids. We knew we wanted more, just not any time soon, given that our youngest had just turned a year. (Brayden is his name, Olivia was 6 at this time) But as we all know, things don't always go according to the way we want them to (haha).         So only 2 weeks after Brayden's 1st birthday, I found out I was pregnant again. I'll be honest here, I was devastated. I cried off and on for about 2 weeks. Reason being, my first 2 pregnancies were high risk and very complicated. I went into preterm labor with both, was in and out of the hospital and on strict bedrest for weeks on end. So I knew what I was in for with this one, only this time I was more afraid...
